New York State Police say they received a complaint of suspicious documents filed with a governing organization on Friday, April 12.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that 31-year-old Christopher Zambas of Pleasant Valley falsified Family Court documents alleging abusive and violent behavior on the victim’s part, according to police.
Zambas was arrested by New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks on Thursday, April 18. He was charged with:
- First-degree falsifying business records, a Class E felony
- Second-degree providing a false sworn statement, a Class A misdemeanor
Zambas was arraigned before the town of Clinton Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or secured bond. He was scheduled to appear in the City of Poughkeepsie Court on Monday, April 22.
